How We Are Keeping You Safe at Mattawa River Resort

Updated: Aug 22, 2023

The health and safety of our staff and guests at Mattawa River Resort is our first priority. It is important that everyone practices social distancing rules and all additional health and safety guidelines to ensure peace of mind while enjoying your stay at our resort. We have implemented new health standards to help keep everyone safe.

EnviraMist

Prior to our guests’ arrival, our cabins are thoroughly cleaned and “fogged” by a product called EnviraMist, which is an all-natural, green, organic, non-toxic, safe sanitizing, and disinfectant solution. This product is 100x more effective than bleach by disinfecting, sanitizing, and killing 99.999% of all viruses and bacteria in a single-use application.   Once our staff members have cleaned the cabins using EnviraMist, we ensure the cottage is closed until your arrival.

Prior to Our Guest’s Arrival

To ensure our staff members’ and guests’ safety, we ask everyone to answer three standard screening questions before arriving.

  1. Have you or anyone in your party experienced any of the following symptoms?

  2. Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  3. Sore throat, trouble swallowing

  4. Runny nose/stuffy nose or nasal congestion

  5. Decrease or loss of taste or smell

  6. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain

  7. Not feeling well, extreme tiredness, sore muscle

  8. Have you travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?

  9. Have you had close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?

If any of our staff or guests have answered YES to any of the above questions, they will be asked to contact us immediately to postpone their trip to a future date.

While it is still safe for guests to travel to our resort during this time, we ask that you take some necessary precautions before arriving. This year, we strongly recommend our guests to please bring their own linens, towels, pillows, and toiletries. We feel it is in everyone’s best interest to limit contact with these products. We ask that guests bring their own groceries to use in our fully equipped kitchens as our restaurants are unfortunately closed at this time. For the safety of our guests and everyone living in Mattawa, we strongly encourage our guests to bring everything they need for their stay to avoid making unnecessary trips into town.

While You Are Visiting

While you are enjoying your stay with us, all staff members and guests must wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Due to COVID-19, we offer a no-contact check-in system to our cabins to minimize the exposure you have with other resort guests and staff members. Our spa, restaurant, fitness areas, and common spaces are unfortunately closed at this time to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Anywhere that is open to guests or staff members are frequently sanitized and disinfected by EnviraMist.

Our outdoor recreational activities such as ice skating, snowmobiling, snow-shoe trails, cross country skiing, dog sledding, and toboggan hills all remain open as long as our guests maintain physical distancing rules. While you can enjoy the amenities and activities provided by the Mattawa Resort, please refrain from leaving the resort and travelling into town for the duration of your getaway. If you have any questions about keeping our guests safe, EnviraMist, or the available winter activities, please visit our blog or contact us.
